About the Community Development Corporation
In 2018, the Gillis Memorial Community Development Corporation (GMCDC), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was established under the leadership of Pastor Gould.

We are committed to creating a positive change in the Park Heights Community by eliminating blight, creating economic opportunities, supplying affordable housing, and promoting homeownership for low and moderate-income families.
OUR PROJECTS
1
Parking Lot Enhancement & Expansion
Beyond parking for church services and events, the parking lot provides a safe space for community events such as Fruits, Vegetables, and Food Distributions; Clothing and Thanksgiving Basket Giveaways; Teacher and Student School Supplies Drives; Game Day; and Truck & Treat events.
DONATE
Your donation, no matter the size, will help us continue developing safe, quality, and affordable homes for seniors, ensuring they can age with dignity and security. Please join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our older neighbors by contributing to this vital cause.
2- and 3- bedroom apartments with the following amenities: one or two bathrooms (depending on the number of bedrooms), stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and washer and dryer with direct access to maintence as needed.
Wellness Center
We envision a Wellness Center on the premises with a primary care physician, pediatrician and social worker.
Many community residents use the local hospital or urgent care facility to serve as their Primary Care Physician (PCP). We believe every adult needs to have their own PCP and every child needs to have their own pediatrician. We expect the facility to have 3 to 4 exam rooms, office space for the doctors and a social worker, a conference room for consultations and workshops, a reception area, restrooms, a kitchen (sink, microwave, refrigerator) and a storage area. The Wellness Center will be available for the residents and the Community.

Apartment Common Centers
We envision three indoor areas for the residents – one for the children, one for the young adults and one for the adults. Programming will be provided for all groups. In addition, we envision a multi-purpose kitchen where demonstration lessons on preparing healthy meals and cooking as a family are hosted, as well as serving as a space that can be available for paid catered events and/or kitchen for licensed small business chefs without a brick and mortar location. Further, we envision a fitness room and a family oriented outdoor space.
Healthy Food Retail
In close proximity to the upcoming Gillis Memorial GrandFamily Apartments, alongside the Wellness Center and Healthy Food Retail, are fast-food establishments that may inadvertently impact the health of the future community residents. Our conviction is that the presence of the Wellness Center, Healthy Food Retail, and interactive meal preparation sessions on and around the GrandFamily Apartments' campus will significantly contribute to enhancing the health and well-being of both residents and community members availing themselves of the onsite resources.
